The Nasarawa State Government has cautioned journalists against publishing false or unverified reports that could breach the prevailing relative peace in the state even as the All Progressives Congress alleges that the recent terror attacks across the country are being aided by internal saboteurs working with external forces.
Mr Ibrahim Addra, Chief Press Secretary to Gov. Abdullahi Sule, in a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday warned that journalist must avoid false report as published in some section of the media of an alleged kidnapping of two students of St. Peter’s Foundation Academy Rukubi, Doma LGA of the state on Friday.
The CPS noted that reports from local authorities, the proprietor of the mentioned school and community members indicated that no such incident occurred in the area.
“The Police Command in the state through its Public Relations Officer, Rahman Nansel, in a statement categorically debunked this falsehood,” he added.

The CPS, thereby, enjoined members of the public to disregard the false alarm and remain law-abiding, saying that “the government remains unwavering in its commitment to the security of lives and property in the state.”
The Lagos State chapter of APC in a statement issued on Saturday in Lagos by its spokesman, Mr Seye Oladejo warned that the pattern of attacks showed clear signs of internal compromise rather than security failure.
According to him, “there is no magic or mystery when terrorists successfully launch attacks despite advanced intelligence capabilities and security alerts.”
He added, “This is nothing short of internal sabotage. It is evidence that supposed protectors are working hand-in-glove with aggressors.”
The APC spokesman alleged that the precision of the attacks suggested insider involvement.
“Terrorists striking soft targets with accurate knowledge of troop movement is not coincidence. Someone on the inside is feeding them information,” he said.
Oladejo also faulted what he described as deliberate weakening of security architecture.
“These are not operational lapses. These are calculated openings created by those sworn to protect the nation,” he claimed.
He noted that the surge in attacks after foreign political comments further raised suspicion.
“Criminals do not suddenly gain capacity because of foreign remarks. They gain confidence when saboteurs facilitate their operations,” he said.
According to him, attempts to overwhelm security agencies with simultaneous assaults “require inside knowledge, logistics and guidance.”
