The Gombe State Police Command has dismissed a social media report alleging an attack on ECWA Church, Kashere, in Akko Local Government Area.
Command’s spokesperson, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, in a statement on Sunday described the claim as “entirely false” and warned against spreading unverified information.
He said senior officers immediately contacted a church elder after the report circulated widely across social platforms. The elder said no such incident occurred during the second segment of the Hausa service.
He added that police officers were present at the church throughout Sunday, providing routine security protection.
“The Command wishes to categorically debunk and dismiss as entirely false the circulating report alleging an attack on ECWA Church,” Abdullahi said.
