The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is mourning the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa, Sen. Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, describing his death as a loss and indescribable pain.
Ewhrudjakpo, who died on Thursday, suddenly collapsed while in the office and was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa.
The party National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, in a statement on Thursday in Abuja described Ewhrudjakpo as a trusted, faithful party man.
He said that the party leadership received the news of the passing of the deputy governor with deep shock adding that the devastating news had left the National Working Committee led by Tanimu Turaki, and indeed the entire membership of PDP in Bayelsa in profound grief.
“While alive, Sen. Ewhrudjakpo was an honest and consistent politician who believed in and practiced politics with principle.

“He was a person of conviction, not convenience; a leader whose life was anchored on belief, integrity, and strength of character.
“He held firmly to these virtues until his final moments.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of this hero of political integrity, and we pray that God grants his soul eternal rest,” he said.
Ememobong expressed PDP heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Bayelsa on the painful and irreparable loss. NAN
