Mbaise Policy Roundtable, MPR, a non governmental organisation, has inaugurated an e commerce platform, ekeohaonline.com.
The Founder and Chairman of the MPR, Prof. Eddie Oparaoji, inaugurated the platform during the organisation’s 2026 annual global summit held on Friday at Nguru, Aboh Mbaise council area of Imo State.
The MPR is an organisation focused on the socio economic development of the Mbaise council areas of Imo, namely Aboh, Ahiazu and Ezinihitte Mbaise.
While performing the inauguration, Oparaoji spoke on the theme, Food Security and Cluster Farming, the Foundation for Health and Economic Stability.
He explained that the idea behind the e commerce platform was driven by the need to ensure that individuals have increased access to nutritious food, while also promoting economic growth.

Oparaoji stressed the importance of healthy nutrition as a key pillar of community wellbeing, adding that the platform would make food more accessible, encourage healthier lifestyles and boost productivity.
He noted that ekeohaonline.com would serve as a catalyst for agricultural and digital development by expanding market access for farmers, improving operational efficiency and supporting data driven strategies to enhance productivity.
Also speaking, the 2026 Chairman of the MPR, Prof. Joseph Ahaneku, advised Nigerians to be cautious about the foods they consume, particularly vegetables, which he said may be poorly handled during preservation.
Ahaneku, who is the Vice Chancellor of the National University of Science and Technology, Abuja, urged youths and retirees to embrace agriculture as a sustainable livelihood.
In her remarks, Dr Beulah Okechukwu, Founder of Array Ventures Consultancy Firm and an advocate of cluster farming, called on farmers to combat underdevelopment through proper nutrition.
She noted that there is a strong link between malnutrition and underdevelopment, adding that reducing malnutrition remains a critical goal for sustainable development.
The event was attended by prominent sons and daughters of Mbaise, including former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prof. Viola Onwuliri.
