Goals from Eberechi Eze and Declan Rice secured a comfortable victory for Arsenal FC over Bayern Leverkusen, sealing a quarter-final spot in the Champions League.

Arsenal advanced 3-1 on aggregate and will face Portugal’s Sporting CP, who staged a remarkable comeback to eliminate Bodo/Glimt.

The Gunners entered the tie level after Kai Havertz scored a late penalty in the first leg, earning a 1-1 draw against the German side.

Arsenal dominated early proceedings, with Gabriel Magalhães twice threatening from set-pieces, forcing fine saves from Leverkusen goalkeeper Janis Blaswich.

Eze broke the deadlock in the 36th minute, controlling superbly before unleashing a powerful half-volley into the net for his first Champions League goal.

Arsenal maintained momentum after the break, with Rice sealing victory in the 63rd minute, calmly finishing after latching onto a defensive clearance.

Manager Mikel Arteta rotated his squad later on, keeping key players fresh ahead of their clash with Manchester City.

The win provides a major confidence boost as Arsenal prepare for the Carabao Cup Final at Wembley Stadium.

Eze continues to impress in midfield amid the absence of captain Martin Ødegaard, with his form boosting Arsenal’s attacking options.

Real Madrid defeated Manchester City to reach the quarter-finals, extending City’s Champions League exit streak to three seasons.

Captain Bernardo Silva was sent off in the first half for deliberate handball, a decision that proved pivotal in the encounter.

Vinícius Júnior converted the resulting penalty  in the 22nd minute and added a late second goal in the 90th minute to seal victory for the Spanish giants.

Erling Haaland scored a consolation goal for City in the 41st minute, but it was insufficient to spark a comeback.

City faced an uphill task after a 3-0 first-leg deficit and saw hopes fade further following Silva’s dismissal after a VAR review by referee Clément Turpin.

Despite creating chances, City were denied repeatedly by goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who produced key saves to maintain Madrid’s advantage.

Haaland’s strike before half-time briefly raised hopes, but City failed to mount a second-half revival as Madrid maintained control.

Paris Saint-Germain defeated Chelsea FC 3-0 at Stamford Bridge, sealing an emphatic 8-2 aggregate win in their Champions League last-16 tie.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opened scoring in the sixth minute after a defensive error, putting the visitors in early control of the encounter.

Bradley Barcola doubled the lead in the 14th minute with a superb half-volley following a midfield turnover.

Substitute Senny Mayulu added a third goal late on in the 62nd minute, compounding Chelsea’s misery in the one-sided contest.

Chelsea created chances through Cole Palmer, Enzo Fernández and others but failed to convert their opportunities.

PSG remained dangerous on the break, with Kvaratskhelia and Barcola repeatedly troubling the Chelsea defence throughout the match.

Home supporters expressed frustration, directing chants at former owner Roman Abramovich and the current club hierarchy.

Head coach Liam Rosenior acknowledged fans’ disappointment, noting the heavy aggregate defeat was difficult to accept.

Chelsea’s problems worsened late on as Trevoh Chalobah was stretchered off with an ankle injury, reducing the team to 10 men.

PSG will face the winner between Liverpool FC and Galatasaray SK in the quarter-finals.
