President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to building a prosperous and resilient Nigeria as he marked his 74th birthday.

Tinubu, in a special message to Nigerians on Sunday in Abuja, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the nation and for the goodwill shown to him.

“Today, as I clock another year in the journey of life, I’m filled with joy and gratitude for the opportunity to serve this great nation.

“I want to take this moment to thank Nigerians for their messages, show of love and prayers on the occasion of my 74th birthday.”

The president thanked Nigerians for their messages, prayers, and demonstrations of support, describing them as a source of encouragement for his administration.

“I thank all citizens for their patriotism, solidarity and support for our administration.”

He also appreciated individuals and groups who placed congratulatory messages in the media, acknowledging their goodwill and solidarity.

“To those who have taken space in newspapers or paid for airtime on radio and television to wish me well, I thank you immensely.”

Tinubu paid special tribute to the First Lady, Oluremi, for her support and kind words on the occasion.

“I must thank my wife, Oluremi Tinubu, for her kind and loving words.”

He also acknowledged the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, for his goodwill and commendation.

The president said he chose to mark the occasion in a low-key manner in line with the current mood of the nation.

“Consistent with my tradition, I resolved to observe this year’s birthday in a low-key manner,” he said.

Reflecting on the administration’s reforms, Tinubu noted that in spite of the challenges, there were emerging signs of progress and recovery.

“I am reminded of the challenges we have faced since initiating reforms, but our sacrifices are beginning to yield results.”

He acknowledged the impact of global developments, particularly the Middle East crisis, on Nigeria’s economic trajectory.

“We can see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel, despite temporary setbacks caused by the ongoing Middle East crisis.”

The president stressed that the gains recorded so far were a collective achievement involving government and citizens alike.

“The credit for the positive outcomes does not belong to me alone. We achieved these gains together.”

Tinubu expressed confidence that his administration would succeed in delivering long-term benefits to Nigerians as it approaches its third anniversary.

“As we march towards the third anniversary of our administration, I am convinced that we shall succeed in building a brighter future.”

He assured Nigerians of his resolve to confront existing challenges and steer the country toward sustainable growth and development.

“We are determined to confront the challenges we face today, and with your continued support, we shall overcome,” he said.

Vice President Kashim Shettima has congratulated President Bola Tinubu on the occasion of his 74 birthday.

Shettima, in a statement on Sunday in Abuja, said working alongside President Tinubu has been “a masterclass in decisive governance and principled leadership.

“As you turn 74 today, I join millions of Nigerians in celebrating a leader whose Renewed Hope Agenda continues to reposition our nation on the path of sustainable prosperity.

“This past year has witnessed remarkable economic milestones under your purposeful leadership.

“Our nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth has accelerated beyond projections, inflation trends showed sustained decline, and foreign direct investment has surged to levels unseen in years,” he said.

Shettima said Tinubu’s resolute focus on infrastructure development was creating the arteries of commerce that would power Nigeria’s prosperity for generations to come.

“Beyond policy and economics, what distinguishes your leadership is an uncommon fortitude, the willingness to make difficult choices today for a better tomorrow.

“History will record that you chose the path of reform avert the comfort of populism,

“Your capacity to balance empathy with firmness, vision with pragmatism, continues to inspire those of us privileged to serve with you.

“As you mark this special day, my prayer is that Almighty Allah grant you robust health, renewed vigour, and continued wisdom to complete the vital work of national transformation you have begun.

“Happy 74th birthday, your excellency, with profound respect and unwavering loyalty,” Shettima said.

Gov. Hyacinth Alia of Benue has described President Bola Tinubu as an uncommon leader, a patriot, and a symbol of enduring resilience.

Alia gave the description on Sunday in his goodwill message to President Tinubu on the occasion of his 74th birthday.

Alia, in the message that he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Makurdi, saluted the courage, vision, and unwavering commitment of President Tinubu to the greatness of Nigeria.

“In moments that test the soul of our country, your leadership continues to inspire hope, unity, and the promise of a better tomorrow.

“Mr President, as you mark this special day, we pray for renewed strength, divine wisdom, and greater grace to lead Nigeria to even higher heights.

“Happy Birthday, Mr President. God bless you, and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he said.
