Minister of Youth and Sports Ali Reza Rahimi has urged Iranians to form a “human chain” in front of power plants to resist attacks by the United States.

“We invite all our youth, athletes, artists, students, university students, and professors.

“Regardless of all beliefs and political orientations, we ask you to gather around the power plants, which are our national assets and belong to Iran’s future and the Iranian youth, at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, the 7th,” said Rahimi.

U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that if negotiations with Iran do not reach a resolution by 8 p.m. on the 7th (U.S. Eastern Time), he will completely destroy power plants, bridges, and other infrastructure. Amid these warnings, Iran has urged its citizens to form a “human chain” in front of power plants to resist the attacks.

Rahimi described it as a “human chain of Iranian youth for a bright tomorrow,” stating, “This proposal originated from the youth.” He added, “This will be a sign of the youth’s dedication to protecting Iran’s infrastructure and building a bright future.”

Minister Rahimi also stated on social media X (formerly Twitter) that day, “We invite all youth, cultural and artistic figures, and athletes to the ‘Iranian Youth Human Chain for a Bright Tomorrow’ campaign,” adding, “We will join hands in front of power plants nationwide and shout, ‘Attacks on public infrastructure are war crimes.’”

Earlier, President Trump held a press conference at the White House and announced that if the Strait of Hormuz is not opened by 8 p.m. on the 7th, all of Iran’s power plants and bridges will be bombed. President Trump stated, “All bridges will collapse, and all power plants will stop operating, catch fire, explode, and become unusable forever,” adding, “The entire country could collapse within a single night.” However, he also suggested the possibility of negotiations, saying, “I believe Iran is engaging sincerely in negotiations,” and “Several countries, including Pakistan, are mediating.”

In response, Iranian Army Central Military Headquarters spokesperson Ebrahim Zolfaghari condemned the remarks, calling them “the rude and arrogant words of a delusional U.S. president,” and stated, “Baseless threats will have no impact on Iran’s military operations.”

The Israeli military also warned Iranian citizens via X that day to refrain from using trains for the next 12 hours. The military stated, “We urge you to avoid using trains across Iran,” adding, “Being inside a train or on the tracks is an act that endangers your life.” The Washington Post reported that this warning appears to suggest an impending attack on the railway network.
