Germany came from behind to defeat Ivory Coast 2-1 in a thrilling FIFA World Cup FIFA World Cup Group E encounter.

The victory strengthened Germany’s chances of reaching the knockout stage after another impressive tournament display.

Both teams entered the match with victories from their opening fixtures, raising expectations for a close contest.

Germany had earlier defeated Curacao 7-1, while Ivory Coast secured a 1-0 win over Ecuador.

Ivory Coast started brightly and took the lead in the 30th minute through Franck Kessié’s composed finish, capitalising on a well-built attacking move to put the African side ahead against the European giants.

Germany increased the pressure after the interval, pushing forward in search of an equaliser.

Their persistence was rewarded in the 68th minute when Deniz Undav struck to level proceedings.

The equaliser shifted momentum towards Germany as they controlled possession and created more attacking opportunities.

Ivory Coast defended resolutely and appeared capable of securing a valuable point from the encounter.

However, Germany delivered a late blow when Undav scored again in the 90th+4 minute, winning a brace to seal a dramatic comeback victory for the four-time world champions.

The result gives Germany six points from two matches and places them in a strong qualifying position.

Germany’s nine goals in two games highlight their attacking quality and growing confidence at the tournament.

In spite of the defeat, Ivory Coast produced a spirited performance against one of the competition’s leading teams.

The Elephants remain hopeful of progression and will seek a positive result in their final group match.

Germany’s resilience, experience and clinical finishing ultimately proved decisive in a fiercely contested Group E battle.
