The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has unveiled the Super Falcons squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, as the 10-time champions prepare to defend their title in Morocco.
Head coach Justine Madugu selected a 25-player squad featuring a blend of experienced internationals and emerging talents.
Prominent among those selected are Al Hilal forward and Super Falcons captain Asisat Oshoala, Paris Saint-Germain’s Rasheedat Ajibade and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie of Brighton & Hove Albion.
The list, posted on the team’s X handle on Friday, also includes several key returnees and established stars such as Michelle Alozie and veteran forward Francisca Ordega. Notable absentees, however, include defender Ashleigh Plumptre.
The squad will aim to extend Nigeria’s dominance in African women’s football, having won the title in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2010, 2014, 2016, 2018 and most recently in 2024.

Midfielders: Deborah Abiodun, Sikiratu Isah, Christy Ucheibe, Halimatu Ayinde, Rasheedat Ajibade, Jennifer Echegini, Antoinette Payne.
Forwards: Folashade Ijamilusi, Esther Okoronkwo, Joy Omewa, Asisat Oshoala, Chinwendu Ihezuo, Omorinsola Babajide, Francisca Ordega, Gift Monday, Uchenna Kanu.
Nigeria enters the tournament as favourites, boasting an unmatched pedigree in African women’s football.
WAFCON 2026 will take place in Morocco from July 25 to August 16, 2026.
