Colombian pop superstar Shakira, Grammy-winning Afrobeats sensation Burna Boy and Uganda’s internationally acclaimed Ghetto Kids have begun rehearsals for their highly anticipated performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final halftime show.
Videos circulating across social media platforms show the artistes rehearsing with members of the Ghetto Kids, offering fans an early glimpse of the choreography and stage production ahead of the historic event. The clips have sparked excitement among football and music lovers worldwide as anticipation builds for the tournament’s grand finale.
The performance will headline FIFA’s first-ever Super Bowl-style halftime show during a FIFA World Cup final, marking a significant departure from the tournament’s traditional format. The entertainment spectacle is expected to blend music, dance and football in one of the world’s most-watched sporting events.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup final is scheduled for July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, United States, where Spain and Argentina are set to battle for the championship in front of a global television audience expected to reach hundreds of millions.

Shakira and Burna Boy are also behind “Dai Dai,” the tournament’s official World Cup song, which has become a central part of FIFA’s promotional campaign for the competition.
According to FIFA, royalties generated from the song will support the Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative aimed at raising $100 million by the end of the tournament. The fund is designed to expand access to quality education and football opportunities for children around the world.
The inclusion of Uganda’s Ghetto Kids has also drawn widespread praise. The celebrated dance troupe, made up of orphaned and vulnerable children from the Katwe slums of Kampala, rose to international fame through their energetic performances on social media and appearances on global talent shows.
Their participation in the halftime show follows an invitation from Shakira, who selected the group to join the star-studded performance after years of international acclaim.
With rehearsals now underway, the halftime show is expected to deliver a vibrant celebration of global culture, bringing together Latin pop, Afrobeats and African dance on one of football’s biggest stages. The performance is set to be one of the defining entertainment highlights of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.
