Nollywood actor and Lagos State lawmaker Desmond Elliot has returned to the spotlight after being spotted on a movie set following his defeat in the All Progressives Congress primary election for the Surulere Constituency I seat.
Photos circulating on social media showed Elliot alongside veteran actor Ibrahim Chatta at what appeared to be a film production location.
The two actors were seen together during filming, with the images generating reactions from fans and entertainment followers who welcomed the possibility of seeing Elliot back on screen.
The appearance has fuelled speculation that the lawmaker may be reviving his acting career after years of focusing on political activities.
However, Elliot has not announced any plans to make a full-time return to Nollywood or confirmed whether the project he was seen on is part of a broader comeback.
Elliot, who represented Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly for three consecutive terms, lost the APC ticket for the constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He was defeated by Barakat Odunuga-Bakare, who emerged as the party’s candidate after securing the highest number of votes in the primary election.

The defeat marked a major political setback for the actor-turned-politician, who first entered the Lagos Assembly in 2015 after transitioning from a successful entertainment career.
Before venturing into politics, Elliot was one of Nollywood’s prominent actors, featuring in numerous Nigerian films and television productions.
His acting career spanned more than two decades, during which he became known for roles in romantic dramas, family films and other mainstream Nollywood productions.
After his election into the Lagos State House of Assembly, Elliot largely stepped away from acting to focus on legislative duties and public service.
His recent appearance with Ibrahim Chatta has renewed public interest in his entertainment background, with some social media users celebrating the possibility of his return to Nollywood while others linked the development to his recent political loss.
Despite the growing speculation, Elliot’s next move remains unclear. The former lawmaker has yet to state whether he intends to return fully to acting, continue pursuing political opportunities, or explore other ventures outside public office.
For now, his appearance on set has marked a notable return to the industry where he built his reputation before entering politics.
