The Nigeria Governors’ Forum, NGF, has congratulated Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election, saying the victory reflects the confidence the people of the state have in his leadership.

Chairman NGF and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on Sunday, said Adeleke’s achievements and personal qualities contributed to his victory in the keenly contested governorship election.

The NGF also commended the people of Osun for their large turnout, saying the interest generated by the off-cycle election demonstrated the resilience of Nigeria’s democracy.

It acknowledged the important role of opposition parties in strengthening democratic governance and commended all candidates who participated in the election for their efforts.

The forum also praised security agencies for curtailing the violence recorded in the days preceding the election and creating a secure environment for the poll, which it said was conducted with minimal incidents.

The NGF further acknowledged the role played by President Bola Tinubu in balancing his position as leader of the ruling party with his responsibilities as the father of the nation.

“We are confident that Gov. Adeleke will continue to build on the successes of his first term in the overall interest of the people of Osun State,” the forum said.
