Tyson Fury has claimed that Anthony Joshua is backing out of their much-anticipated all-British heavyweight showdown, throwing the proposed fight into fresh doubt.
In a video posted on Instagram, the 38-year-old Fury claimed Joshua was backing out of their proposed heavyweight showdown, further casting doubt over the long-awaited all-British clash.
Fury and Joshua have been involved in talks over a long-awaited meeting between the two former heavyweight world champions. However, Fury has grown increasingly frustrated by the lack of a formal confirmation.
The former world champion last week called Joshua a “coward” as uncertainty continued over the proposed fight.
The two British heavyweights were expected to meet in November at Madison Square Garden in New York, but the proposed venue has faced criticism from some British boxing fans.
In a series of videos posted over the past week, Fury claimed Joshua’s lack of response and uncertainty over the venue had created doubts about whether the fight would go ahead.
Fury has now turned his attention to Oleksandr Usyk, challenging the Ukrainian to meet him in the ring for a third time.

Fury said Usyk had twice shown the courage to fight him and urged the Ukrainian to agree to another bout in November.
He also told Usyk that the decision was now in his hands and asked whether he wanted to fight again in 2026.
Fury has twice lost to Usyk, who became a two-time undisputed heavyweight champion following his victories over the British fighter.
The Ukrainian defeated Fury in their first meeting before securing another victory in their rematch.
Joshua has also been working with Usyk’s training team, adding another layer to the rivalry between the heavyweight stars.
Madison Square Garden was widely expected to host the proposed Fury-Joshua fight, although Joshua’s camp reportedly prefers Wembley Stadium in London.
The disagreement over the venue, combined with Fury’s latest comments, has further increased uncertainty surrounding the highly anticipated all-British heavyweight clash.
For now, Fury says he is looking for a new opponent, with Usyk emerging as his preferred alternative if the proposed Joshua fight fails to materialise.
