ProvidusUnity Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting businesses and driving Nigeria’s economic development as it deepens engagement with customers and prospective clients across Northern Nigeria.

The bank disclosed that it had commenced a series of customer engagement fora across Kano, Sokoto and Abuja, attracting more than 1,000 customers and prospects as part of efforts to understand their needs, strengthen relationships and improve service delivery following its successful merger and integration.

The forums, which represent the first phase of a nationwide stakeholder engagement programme, provided a platform for customers and prospects to interact directly with the bank’s leadership and business teams, gain insights into its offerings and share feedback on their financial needs and expectations.

Participants engaged with the bank’s representatives across key business segments, including credit, customer experience, digital banking, payments, trade services and export financing. They also explored opportunities to leverage the bank’s financial solutions to expand their businesses and improve operational efficiency.

The engagements followed the successful merger and integration that created ProvidusUnity Bank, a strategic combination designed to build a stronger financial institution with enhanced capabilities, broader reach and greater capacity to support individuals, businesses and critical sectors of the Nigerian economy.

With the integration process substantially completed, the bank said it had begun direct engagements with customers nationwide to understand their changing expectations, gather feedback and ensure its products, services and operating model remained aligned with their needs.

The initiative, according to the bank, reflects its commitment to maintaining close relationships with customers while leveraging the scale, strength and opportunities created by the merger.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ProvidusUnity Bank, Walter Akpani, said the engagements underscored the bank’s belief that meaningful growth and long-term success depended on strong customer relationships.

He said: “The merger has created a stronger institution with greater capacity to support our customers’ ambitions. However, size and scale only create value when they translate into better experiences and more relevant solutions for the people we serve. That is why we are engaging directly with our customers across the country, listening to their feedback, understanding their priorities, and identifying new ways to support their growth.

“Our vision is to be a trusted partner in the success of our customers. Whether through access to finance, digital banking solutions, trade support, payments, or advisory services, we remain committed to helping businesses grow, creating opportunities for individuals, and contributing meaningfully to Nigeria’s economic development. These engagements are an important part of that journey because they ensure that our decisions continue to be shaped by the voices of our customers.”

The bank said the customer engagement forums reinforced its commitment to maintaining open dialogue with stakeholders and strengthening its position as a trusted financial partner.

It added that the initiative was aimed at expanding financial access, supporting enterprise growth and creating sustainable value for communities and businesses across the country.

ProvidusUnity Bank said the engagements in Northern Nigeria would be followed by similar forums in other parts of the country as it continues to strengthen stakeholder relationships and deliver tailored financial solutions to empower customers and support economic growth.
