Engr. Debo Fagbami, Managing Director of the NEDO Gas Development Company, NEDOGAS will chair the Realnews 14th Anniversary Lecture, the publication’s management has announced.
The lecture, themed “Geopolitical Turbulence and Energy Security: Forging Strategic Opportunities for Africa,” holds November 19 in Lagos.
Fagbami confirmed his acceptance in an email to Realnews dated August 22, 2026. “Consider this as a confirmation of my acceptance to chair the Anniversary Lecture of Realnews. Kindly keep me updated,” he wrote.
The chairmanship places the gas executive at the helm of a forum that has, for fourteen years, drawn Nigeria’s senior policymakers, regulators, industry operators and academics into debate on the continent’s most consequential questions.
A career spanning gas, engineering and industry governance
Fagbami leads NEDOGAS, a joint venture gas development and infrastructure company established under one of the partnership initiatives of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ibadan and an Executive MBA from Henley Business School in the United Kingdom.
His professional footprint runs through the core institutions of Nigeria’s petroleum industry. A long-standing volunteer with the Society of Petroleum Engineers, he served as Chairman of the Port Harcourt Section and as Chair of the Nigerian Council in 2019.
