Senior Pastor of the Fountain of Life Church, Jimmy Odukoya, has announced his marriage to Pastor Mo Jasmine, introducing her to members of the congregation during a Sunday service.
The announcement was made during the church service, where Odukoya invited his wife to the altar and formally presented her to the congregation.
Speaking about their relationship, the cleric said he had spent time searching for a suitable partner before finding her.
He told the congregation that his earlier social media post announcing the relationship was not an artwork, confirming that Mo Jasmine was his wife.
“You know, the Bible said it is not good, it said I will find someone suitable. When Adam saw, he said this is the flesh of my flesh, bone of my bone, I was looking and searching, and I found. Some of you saw the post, some people said is it artwork, no it’s my wife; allow me to introduce to you for the first time, Pastor Mrs. Odukoya, a new first lady, my wife. Pastor Mo Odukoya,” he said.
He introduced her as Pastor Mo Odukoya and described her as the church’s new first lady.
Pastor Tunde Bakare, General Overseer of The Citadel Global Community Church, said the couple’s wedding took place in the United States, where he officiated the marriage blessing. He also revealed that Mo Odukoya is the daughter of Reverend Theophilus and Bolaji Daniel.
Odukoya was previously married to Oluwakemi Sade Banjoko. The couple got married in London in March 2013 and had two children before their marriage ended.
The announcement generated reactions on social media, with many Nigerians congratulating the couple while others commented on Mo’s appearance and broader conversations about marriage and divorce within religious circles.

An x user @dekkaxhi, criticised the pastor’s decision, arguing that it went against biblical teachings on marriage and remarriage.
“Your mother will be rolling in your grave. Incase you don’t know, you are committing adultery and God explicitly said it! Even the Pastor Chris Oyakhillome you all criticized haven’t remarried after years of divorce. Na wan!” the user wrote.
Another user, MIND OF LASE, questioned why other prominent religious leaders and members of the Odukoya family appeared not to have publicly acknowledged the marriage.
“My own is, why are all the other fathers of faith not carried along? His sister has not said anything like the way they used to celebrate each other. During his ordination, there was TREM, WINNERS all his guys were around. Now it’s Tunde Bakarw the wanna be president,” the user commented.
Paul Bushman, however, described remarriage among divorced pastors as common in some Western churches, although he noted that it remained a subject of debate among Christians.
“These things are normal in churches in the western world. To see pastor wey never divorce before there na by connection. Although it’s strange due to the Bible’s emphasis on divorce without remarrying,” he wrote.
Similarly, a user identified as Som questioned whether pastors were permitted to remarry after divorce, writing, “After all the legacy their parents built. For the umpteenth time is a pastor allowed to divorce?”
Meanwhile, Imole Ayo Gold questioned whether Odukoya had legally divorced his former wife, Kemi, commenting, “So he’s truly divorced his former wife Kemi? Na wa o.”
Juliet Nky also commented on Mo Odukoya’s nose ring, writing, “Mummy G.O is even on noise ring…. Churches of these days eeh, God have mercy.”
