The Supreme Court has announced the date to hear the petition of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar against President Bola Tinubu’s election.
In a memo posted on X, formally twitter, by Dele Momodu on Thursday, the apex court said the case would be heard on Monday, October 23.
Recall that the PDP candidate on September 19 filed 35 grounds appeal challenging the verdict of the presidential election petitions which upheld Tinubu’s victory in the election.
Atiku had also urged the Supreme Court to allow him present fresh evidence to back his claim that President Tinubu forged the document he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission.
President Tinubu however, urged the apex Court to throw away the appeal, adding that the petition by Atiku against the February 25 election was a mere blockbuster with thrilling suspense and hide-and-seek.
