Controversial singer, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, and his associate, Balogun Samson, aka Sammy Larry, have been released by the Lagos State Police Command after meeting the bail conditions set by a Lagos State Magistrates’ Court.
This development was confirmed by Benjamin Hundeyin, the State Police Public Relations Officer, in a brief statement on Friday. Hundeyin stated, “Naira Marley and Sammy Larry, having met their bail conditions, have been released.”
The bail, granted on November 6 by the court, required the duo to pay N20 million each with three responsible sureties. Additionally, they were ordered to surrender their passports and make weekly appearances at the State Criminal Investigation Department.
The arrest of Naira Marley and Sammy Larry was part of an investigation into the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as MohBad, after videos of assault against him circulated online. MohBad died under controversial circumstances on September 12, 2023.
Prior to his death, he had alleged harassment by his former record label, Marlian Music, owned by Naira Marley.
