In a Sunday evening incident around 5 p.m., a yet-to-be-identified man suffered injuries in a collision involving two trucks on the outward Apapa route in Lagos State.

The crash, which resulted in significant damage to both vehicles, was captured in a video shared on the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority ,LASTMA, official handle.

According to LASTMA Public Relations Officer, Adebayo Taofiq, the accident occurred as a result of speeding, with one truck, bearing registration number T382-LA, colliding with another moving truck. The impact caused severe damage to the windscreen of one of the vehicles.

In an interview with newsmen, Taofiq stated, “The vehicle was speeding and as a result of that lost control and rammed into another truck. The registration number of the truck is T382-LA. It ran into another moving truck ahead of it.”

Prompt intervention by LASTMA officers helped save the injured driver, who suffered a serious injury to his left leg. The injured individual was swiftly taken to Apapa General Hospital with support from policemen from Area B Police Command in Apapa.

Additionally, LASTMA personnel promptly arranged for a towing vehicle to clear the damaged truck from the road, ensuring the smooth flow of traffic in the aftermath of the incident.
