Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has achieved another milestone as he emerges as the No. 1 artist on the Billboard Year-End U.S. Afrobeats Artists Chart.

This recognition highlights Burna Boy’s significant impact on the Afrobeats genre globally.

Following closely, the ‘Calm Down’ crooner, Rema, secured the second spot on the chart, while Tems, Cameroonian diva Libianca, and Wizkid secured the third, fourth, and fifth positions, respectively. The Billboard Year-End U.S. Afrobeats Artists Chart reflects the influence and popularity of these artists in the United States.

In addition to the individual artist rankings, Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ remix featuring Selena Gomez claimed the top spot on the Billboard Year-End U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart. Libianca’s ‘People’ and Tems’ ‘Free Mind’ secured the second and third positions, showcasing the diversity and quality of Afrobeats songs.

Wizkid’s ‘Essence’ featuring Tems and Justin Bieber, along with Burna Boy’s ‘Last Last,’ completed the top 5 on the Afrobeats Songs chart. The global success of these songs indicates the growing influence of Afrobeats on the international music scene.

Remarkably, Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ also achieved the No. 1 position on Billboard’s 2023 Pop Airplay & Rhythmic Airplay year-end chart. Furthermore, it secured the sixth spot on the prestigious Hot 100 Year-End 2023 chart, reinforcing Rema’s standing as a prominent artist in the music industry.

This recognition on the Billboard Year-End charts attests to the rising global prominence of Nigerian and Afrobeats artists, solidifying their impact on the international music landscape. Burna Boy’s achievement as the top Afrobeats artist underscores his continuous contribution to the genre’s global reach.
