Napoli President, Aurelio De Laurentiis on Saturday confirmed that Victor Osimhen is close to signing a new two-year contract at the club.
De Laurentiis told reporters at a ceremony that talks with Osimhen over a new contract is already at an advanced stage.
“For Osimhen we are at the signing stage which had been pending since the summer”, De Laurentiis said.
The Nigeria international has one and a half years on his current contract with the Serie A champions.
The new contract will see him commit his future to Napoli until 2027.
The 24-year-old played a key role in Napoli’s title success last season, but saw his relationship soured with the club after they uploaded a video to their TikTok page that mocked him.
Osimhen has scored six goals in 12 appearances across all competitions for the Partenopei this season.
