In a bid to address issues in the health sector, Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has pledged to recruit more health workers in the new year.
Governor Aiyedatiwa, who recently assumed office following the death of former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, made this commitment during an address to state workers at the annual prayer organized by civil servants.
Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the health sector by recruiting additional health workers and addressing staffing needs regularly. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing the welfare of public servants, assuring them of prompt payment of salaries, promotions, regular elevation, training, and retraining, among other benefits.

The governor also warned civil servants against involvement in partisan politics and called for a peaceful election year. He stressed that maintaining peace in the state is non-negotiable, and elections should not be approached as a do-or-die affair.
The state Head of Service, Mr. Kayode Ogundele, commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his worker-friendly policies, acknowledging the support provided in various areas related to the welfare of public servants.
Ogundele highlighted initiatives such as regular promotions, equitable distribution of palliatives, payment of wage awards, and other welfare packages aimed at enhancing workers’ efficiency.
