Court denies Gov Fubara’s loyalists bail over alleged terrorism

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Monday denied bail to five persons accused of invading, vandalising and burning down the Rivers Assembly Complex.

They are Ochueja Thankgod, Osiga Donald, Kenneth Goodluck Kpasa, Prince Lukman Oladele, and Chime Eguma Ezebalike.They are responding to a seven-count terrorism charge that the Inspector General of Police has preferred against them.

Following the political unrest that shook the State in October 2023, the defendants allegedly broke into the House of Assembly complex in an effort to thwart an impeachment attempt against Governor Siminalayi Fubara, according to the police.
