The Adamawa Government says it will prosecute all those who connived to perpetrate evils and democratic embarrassment during the March 18, 2023 governorship election in the state.
The State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri made this known in a special broadcast in Yola on Monday following his recent victory at the Supreme Court.
He appreciated the Independent National Electoral Commission for standing firm as an unbiased electoral umpire in spite of the undemocratic conduct of its Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC.
He described the actions of the REC as irresponsible and unlawful, which even the Supreme Court in its recent judgment described as an act of irresponsibility and criminality.
Fintiri explained that the courts have painstakingly dissected the petition and came out with a judgment that resonates with the electorate.

“The judgment was fair and just, indeed it has reaffirmed our belief in the judiciary as the last hope of the common man.
“I want to assure you once again that we owe it a duty to prosecute them for making us passed through such democratically embarrassing moments”, he said.
He assured that his administration would sustain provision of critical infrastructure, including roads, hospitals, schools, agricultural inputs, security and economic empowerment.
Credible news reports that the Supreme Court had reaffirmed the election of Fintiri as the duly elected governor of Adamawa.
Recall that the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Sen. Aishatu Binani, had dragged Fintiri to the election petition tribunal challenging his victory at the polls.
