Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis believes it will be hard to retain Victor Osimhen this summer if a club meets his “very high” release clause.

Napoli’s president, De Laurentiis, praised Osimhen, acknowledging his talent and the interest he has garnered from top clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, and Real Madrid. He highlighted Napoli’s history of attracting top players like Higuain, Cavani, Lavezzi, and Mertens, emphasizing the appeal of the club and the city. Osimhen recently extended his contract with Napoli until June 2026, with a release clause set at around €130m.

De Laurentiis acknowledged the challenge of retaining players when top clubs like Real Madrid, Arsenal, PSG, Manchester City, and Chelsea show interest. He highlighted the allure of these clubs and their financial prowess, making it difficult for Napoli to keep players, especially those with high release clauses like Osimhen.

While Osimhen has a high release clause, De Laurentiis remained open to the possibility of his departure, stating that it ultimately depends on which players decide to leave.
