President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to fighting corruption and creating a conducive business environment.

He urged Qatari investors to inform him if any Nigerian government official requests a bribe from them.

Tinubu made this statement during the Nigeria-Qatar Business and Investment Forum in Doha on Sunday. He assured that his administration would take decisive action against any entrenched interests within the nation that undermine investor confidence in the Nigerian economy.

“I am here to assure you that reforms are underway; disregard whatever you may have heard in the past. Any obstacles or problems you may have encountered are in the past because there will be no hindrances in the future.

“Do not offer bribes to any of our officials, and if asked or taken from you, report it to us. You will have direct access to me.

“Nigeria will no longer be defined by its past but by what we do now and moving forward. Do not let perceptions hinder your desire to invest. Nigeria is committed to revolutionizing investment promotion.

“We are eliminating obstacles today and will continue to do so. We have achieved a lot in nine months, and I assure you, there will be free entry and exit. Your funds will flow smoothly in and out of our country. Bring your investments,” he stated.

President Bola Tinubu recently signed seven bilateral, multi-sectoral agreements with the government of Qatar, aiming to enhance investment opportunities between the two countries. These agreements cover various areas including education, employment regulations, establishment of a joint business council, and cooperation in youth and sports.

Tinubu emphasized Nigeria’s immense potential as an investment destination, highlighting its vast market of over 200 million skilled and hardworking individuals. Despite facing some short-term challenges, Tinubu expressed confidence in the Nigerian government’s ability to address them effectively.

He stressed the government’s commitment to implementing the right solutions and working collaboratively with partners, affirming Nigeria’s readiness for serious business opportunities.
