Daniel Olarenwaju, the Coach of Enyimba International FC, has criticized the condition of the Amoaogudu Abiriba pitch, the venue for the Federation Cup quarter-final match between his team and Ngwa United FC of Abiriba.

Enyimba secured a 1-0 victory over Ngwa United FC on Tuesday, advancing to the semifinals of the ongoing state federation cup in Abia, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN.

Olarenwaju, who complained of the condition of the pitch, said that his team had to play there for the love of the game.

“You cannot bring a club like Enyimba to come and play in this kind of pitch and now two of my players are seriously injured. It is really crazy but it is important that we honour this match for the love of the game but this cannot happen in other states.

“”You can’t take Rivers United, Kwara United, or any NPFL team to a pitch like this; it’s barbaric. For Enyimba, winning is our priority, no matter where we play. That’s the message I gave the players,” he said.

The coach emphasized that the players are trained to focus on winning each match regardless of the pitch condition. “I hope our next match will be on a better pitch so fans can enjoy the game,” Olarenwaju added.
