Due to the ongoing Muslim Ramadan fast and the Christian Lenten period, the medical screening date for candidates seeking recruitment into the Constable cadre of the Nigeria Police Force has been rescheduled.

The screening is now slated to begin on Tuesday, April 16th, 2024, allowing for the completion of these religious observances.

In a statement by Ikechukwu Ani, Head of Press and Public Relations of the Police Service Commission, PSC, it was announced that the screening process is expected to span two weeks, marking the successful conclusion of the recruitment exercise.

Ani also noted that specialist applicants, who have completed the physical and credentials screening but did not participate in the JAMB-conducted Computer-Based Tests, will undergo practical tests and medical screening during this period.

Additionally, the screening exercises are slated to take place in the 17 Zonal Command Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force, as well as in Kaduna, Yobe, and Zamfara states.

These states have been accorded special considerations due to prevailing security challenges.

Candidates from these states are instructed to undergo screening and practical tests in their respective states of origin.

Moreover, Police Colleges located in states hosting the Zonal Command Headquarters will serve as venues for these exercises.

The Police Recruitment Board will duly inform shortlisted candidates of specific details regarding the venues and timing of their screenings.

Successful candidates from the medical screening phase will proceed to Police Colleges for mandatory training.

He affirmed the meticulous selection process, conducted in adherence to international standards and tailored to local challenges. Dr. Arase emphasized the quest for individuals exhibiting high potential and unwavering commitment to form the cornerstone of Nigeria’s revamped security architecture.

Dr. Arase commended Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, and his management team for the success of the Computer-Based Test, citing JAMB’s established reputation for excellence and reliability in such examinations nationwide.
