Chinese Vice Premier Hé Lìfēng met with Kristalina Georgieva, managing director of the International Monetary Fund, IMF, in Beijing.
The vice premiers of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China are high-ranking officials under the premier and above the state councilors and ministers.
The two sides exchanged views on the current international economic and financial situation and major issues related to the IMF.
Hé, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said that China’s economy has maintained a momentum of steady and sound growth with strengthened internal drive for economic growth.

Hé Lìfēng; born February 1955 is a Chinese economist and politician who has served as vice premier of the People’s Republic of China since March 2023. He has additionally been a member of the Politburo of the Chinese Communist Party since October 2022
“The Chinese government will continue to support the IMF in making new contributions to global stability and prosperity,” he said.
Georgieva said it is believed that China’s efforts to transform its growth model and promote high-quality financial development will inject new impetus into global economic growth.
