Nollywood was thrown into mourning again as an actor, Junior Pope Odonwodo reportedly died in a boat accident.

The incident occurred on the Anam river in Anambra State, on Wednesday while the actors were en route to a movie shoot.

A source disclosed that the actor died during a boat trip, noting that the boat capsized and him alongside two others yet to be identified actors got drown.

His body was recovered and rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

The actor had earlier shared a video of himself on a boat and praying to arrive at his destination safely.

The Delta State Chairman of Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Emma Onyemeziem confirmed incident saying the corpse has been deposited in the morgue.

The news has shocked fans and fellow industry figures, with many expressing their condolences and disbelief on social media platforms.

Questions arise regarding safety measures, with some pointing out the absence of life jackets and urging caution during boat journeys.

The recent spike in deaths within the industry has prompted widespread questioning about what’s occurring in the Nigerian entertainment sector.
