In a strong rebuke to the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Bashir Ajibola, the Coalition of Civil Society Organizations for Good Governance in Nigeria has denounced his recent remarks describing governance in Osun State as being on autopilot.

The Secretary General of the organization, Olalekan Johnson in a statement described such assertion as an unguarded statement and an attempt to undermine the democratically elected administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke in Osun State.

“We also view Mr Ajibola’s comments, as one, which stem from his failure to overcome the trauma of his significant defeat in the last senatorial election in Osun State.

“The coalition hereby warns Bashir Ajibola to cease from his continued mischievous attempts at causing political instability in Osun State, as we want to emphasize that Governor Ademola Adeleke enjoys widespread support and goodwill of the people of the state.

“Furthermore, we call upon President Bola Tinubu and the National leadership of the APC to intervene and rein in Mr. Bashir Ajibola, and stop him from his desperation to destabilize Osun State.

“We also urge them to compel Ajibola to respect properly constituted authority, particularly the incumbent administration in Osun State, which from all indications, is delivering the dividends of democracy to the people in an unprecedented manner.

“Our coalition wishes to restate that our stance underscores a growing concern over the potential ramifications of divisive rhetoric on the stability and progress of Osun State, as we urge all stakeholders to prioritize unity and constructive criticism for the betterment of Osun state and its citizens,” the statement read in part.

Johnson called on the people of Osun state to continue in their support for the administration of governor Ademola to bring about progress and development in the state.
