Gunmen suspected to be bandits have killed Musa Ille, the Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Ille was killed in front of his house when the assailant invaded his house on Monday night.

The PDP Chairman in the local government, Garba Garewa, confirmed the killing of the party’s secretary in Tsafe on Tuesday said “we are suspecting his killers to be bandits, they entered his house yesterday and shot him.”

A resident of the area, Abubakar Tsafe, also disclosed that when the gunmen entered the area, they called the secretary to come check something at the back of his house.

he said Ille came outside not knowing they were bandits armed with weapons.

The late Musa Ille was a grassroot politician who contributed immensely to the success of the party in the 2023 Election which produced Dauda Lawal as the state governor.

The incident is coming a few weeks after a PDP chieftain Shafiu Abubakar, alongside two others, were killed in Maradun Local government of the state.

The late Shafiu Abubakar was one of those aspiring for the Tsafe Local government chairmanship seat under the platform of the PDP

The local government area is experiencing a resurgence of activities of armed bandits in recent times, but the government says it is not leaving any stone unturned to ensure peace returns to all troubled areas across the state.
