The Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, High Chief Rasidi Ladoja, on Tuesday, finally withdrew the suit filed against members of Olubadan-in-Council.
It was reported that High Chief Ladoja instituted a suit against the members of the Council over the beaded crown worn before the demise of the late 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun.
The coast is now clear for the enthronement of the Olubadan-designate, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Recall that Oba Lateef Adebimpe, Osi Balogun, after a meeting in Ibadan, had said “the nomination letter is with the state government, what is left now is for High Chief Ladoja to withdraw the pending case in court in order to facilitate the installation of the new Olubadan.”
A source said that the case was withdrawn in the interest of Ibadan and not on any other consideration.

He said “I’m telling you authoritatively that the case has been withdrawn not for any other reason but in the interest of Ibadan. You know High Chief Ladoja loves Ibadan and he won’t do anything that will be antithetical to the progress and peace of the ancient city.”
Also, the aide of High Chief Ladoja when he was governor, Adeola Oloko, confirmed that the case had been withdrawn.
He, however, did not disclose when exactly the withdrawal took place.
He simply said, “Yes. It is true.”
The nomination of Olubadan designate was submitted to the Governor about three weeks ago.
His approval will lead to the eventual installation of Oba Owolabi Olakulehin as the 43rd Olubadan any moment from now.
It was gathered that families within Ibadan have bought specially designed clothes for the coronation ceremony.
