The Council for the Regulation of Engineering, COREN, and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, have reaffirmed their commitment to a strong partnership aimed at curbing engineering failures, with a particular focus on preventing building collapses in Nigeria.
During a meeting in Abuja on Thursday, COREN President, Prof. Sadiq Abubakar, led a delegation to discuss updates to the 2014 Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Aliyu.
Abubakar stressed the importance of revising the MoU to address current challenges, including the 2018 amendment of COREN’s Act, Nigeria’s recent membership in international engineering accords, and a series of recent building collapses and infrastructure failures.
