In a recent Forbes publication ranking Africa’s richest music stars for 2024, Davido claimed the top spot with a net worth of $100 million, surpassing fellow Nigerian artists Don Jazzy, Burna Boy, and Wizkid.
Don Jazzy came second with $50 million, followed by Burna Boy at $30 million, Wizkid at $25 million, and rising star Rema at $15 million, completing the top five.
Fans of Wizkid and Burna Boy voiced their dissatisfaction with the rankings, especially as the long-standing rivalry between Davido and Wizkid continues to fuel heated online exchanges. The ranking also reignited discussions around Rema’s bold lyric, where he declared that the “Big Three” era was over, as he positioned himself among the elite of Afrobeats.
The list has sparked intense debates across social media, with many fans challenging Forbes’ criteria and defending their favorite artists.
