Chidimma Adetshina, the first runner-up at the 73rd Miss Universe competition and the current titleholder of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, has decided to quit beauty pageantry.
In an interview with Silverbird TV, Adetshina revealed that her experience in the pageant world had been traumatic, admitting that she had contemplated quitting during the Miss Universe competition.
She explained that her decision to leave the industry is driven by personal reasons. Additionally, she plans to move from South Africa, where she currently resides, to Nigeria to focus on her personal development and pursue further education.

Reflecting on her pageant journey, Adetshina expressed surprise at her high placement, describing it as a “shocker.” Despite her success, she emphasized her desire to move on, stating, “I’m really done with pageantry. I want to focus on myself and establish who I am.”
Adetshina’s rise to fame included winning the Miss Nigeria title after withdrawing from the Miss South Africa contest due to a nationality controversy. Her journey reached its peak with a remarkable performance at the Miss Universe competition held in Mexico.
Chidimma Adetshina, who has received significant support from the Enugu State Government, will be welcomed by many Nigerians as she relocates from South Africa to Nigeria following her decision to retire from pageantry.
