The Ajia SakaSaka family of Ilorin has announced the passage of its patriach Alhaji Yahaya Olayiwola Ajia.
The deceased was the last surviving son of the late Alhaji Muhammadu Kuranga Ajia, the iconic Ajia SakaSaka of Ilorin. He passed away peacefully on the night of Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the age of 80.
His remains were buried immediately in accordance with Islamic rites at the Muslim Cemetery, Ilorin. A Fidau session was also held Wednesday to pray for his eternal rest.

Lincoln University of Missouri, USA, described his father as “a beacon of integrity, humility, and dedication to both family and community”.
“We honor the remarkable life and legacy of our father, grandfather and one of the pillars of Ilorin Emirate.
“May Almighty Allah grant him Al-Jannah Firdausi and strengthen us all during this period of grief”, Dr. Ajia prayed.
