Pastor Sam Otenaike the senior pastor of Precious People’s Assembly has called on fellow clergymen to avoid promoting undue pressure on youths to achieve quick financial success.

He argued that the church’s overemphasis on wealth and prosperity has fostered unhealthy competition and desperation among young members, diverting them from spiritual growth and ethical living.

The clergy man who spoke on Sunday during a meet and greet session with new members of the church urged the youth not to be swayed with the pressure of getting rich quick as according to him, such wealth are not sustainable.

He attributed such pressure as stemming from sight, sound, and sense. Labeling the current era as “the Three S Generation,” he urged members to resist the allure of superficial influences and focus on values that promote spiritual and personal growth.

“Don’t look at somebody else’s race to run your race. There is no short cut anywhere. What people call short cut is actually cut down. Don’t be envious of people’s wealth and don’t get carried away by people’s lavish lifestyle,” said the clergy man.

“I will say this with all sense of responsibility, and God sees my heart. Many times we the pastors are the ones promoting those unnecessary quest.

“If what we celebrate are the cars, what we celebrate are the houses and all of that, of course the congregation would also want to be seen and celebrated.

“But those are not the real issues. They are not.

“So my advice to young people is: things take time. If you are going to build sustainable wealth it will take time to build,” he added.

Pastor Otenaike emphasized the importance of financial diversification, urging new members of Precious People’s Assembly to explore additional income-generating activities alongside their primary sources of income. He highlighted this approach as essential for financial stability and long-term success.

While fielding questions from congregants, the directorate of the Kingdom Business School, an initiative under the church’s Corporate Social Responsibility program, disclosed that the school is dedicated to training and empowering business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs.

According to the directorate, the program enhances productivity and supports the realization of business ideas through strategic training and the provision of grants.
