The N47.9tn 2025 Budget presentation to the joint session of the National Assembly by President Bola Tinubu, earlier fixed for Tuesday has been shifted to Wednesday.
This is contained in a circular addressed to all staff of the National Assembly. However, the circular didn.t state the reason for the postponement.
The Minister of State for Agriculture, Sabi Abdullahi also confirmed the development noting that the President had postponed the budget presentation till Wednesday.
Abdullahi noted that the executive needed to do a work or two on the budget.
He said: “The budget presentation has been postponed from Tuesday to Wednesday.
“The executive just needs to make one or two adjustments to the budget.”

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, had, during the announcement at the plenary, announced that Tinubu will present the 2025 budget on Tuesday.
He said: “The president has made his intention known to the National Assembly to present the 2025m budget to the joint Assembly of the National Assembly on the 17th of December, 2024.”
Akpabio announced that the budget presentation will occur at the House of Representatives Chamber.
He further informed the lawmakers that plenary will be at 10:30 am to allow senators to meet in the Red Chamber before moving in procession to the House of Representatives chamber where the budget will be presented.
Last month, President Tinubu submitted the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework and the Fiscal Strategy Paper for the 2025–2027 period to both chambers of the National Assembly.
Akpabio instructed the Senate Committee on Finance, National Planning, and Economic Affairs to review these documents and report back within a week.
The MTEF/FSP outlines key fiscal assumptions for the 2025 budget, including a crude oil price benchmark of $75 per barrel, daily oil production of 2.06 million barrels, an exchange rate of N1,400 to $1, and a target GDP growth rate of 6.4%. These parameters are central to the proposed N47.9 trillion budget for 2025.
