Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, UAE, has accepted President Bola Tinubu’s invitation to visit Nigeria this year.
The invitation was extended during bilateral talks held on Wednesday, on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025.
President Tinubu arrived in Abu Dhabi on Sunday as a guest of Sheikh Al Nahyan to participate in the Sustainability Week, an international forum focused on fostering sustainable development and addressing global challenges such as climate change, water and energy crises.
Tinubu delivered Nigeria’s position on climate and other challenges earlier on Wednesday and congratulated the UAE leader for the successful event.
During their discussions, Sheikh Al Nahyan expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for honoring his invitation to Abu Dhabi and reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to strengthening economic cooperation with Nigeria.

Both leaders explored opportunities to attract investments into Nigeria, with Tinubu emphasizing that his administration’s economic reforms were stabilizing the economy and fostering growth.
He highlighted renewed confidence in Nigeria, citing billion-dollar investments from foreign investors, including international oil companies.
President Tinubu called on the UAE to partner with Nigeria in further developing its economy and thanked Sheikh Al Nahyan for the warm hospitality extended to him and his delegation since their arrival.
Accompanying President Tinubu were Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar; Minister of Finance, Wale Edun and National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
On the UAE side, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, other senior officials also joined Sheikh Al Nahyan in the discussions at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental in Abu Dhabi.
The high-level talks underscored the commitment of both nations to deepen ties, explore investment opportunities, and collaborate on global challenges.
