The Trump administration has launched a major deportation operation following a directive from President Donald Trump to combat illegal immigration.
This initiative builds on the president’s previous actions on his first day in office, where he signed a series of executive orders targeting illegal immigration.
As part of the crackdown, Trump declared the situation at the US-Mexico border a national emergency and labeled criminal cartels as terrorist organizations.
His administration also took steps to end the practice of granting automatic citizenship to children born in the US to undocumented immigrants.
Additionally, Trump signed an order suspending the US refugee resettlement program for four months.

This week, the enforcement operation began, with a significant number of arrests already reported.
As stated by the White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, 538 illegal immigrants were detained in the first round of the operation.
Leavitt shared details on her X account, stating that among those arrested were a suspected terrorist, members of the Tren de Aragua gang, and individuals convicted of sex crimes involving minors.
Meanwhile, CBS News reported on Friday that two deportation flights had arrived in Guatemala overnight.
A Guatemalan migration official confirmed that one flight from El Paso carried 80 people, another from Tucson brought in 80 more, and a third from El Paso transported around 105 individuals.
Leavitt further confirmed the scope of the operation, noting that hundreds of criminals had been deported via military aircraft.
She emphasized that this is the “largest massive deportation operation in history” and marks the beginning of a more aggressive approach to curbing illegal immigration under Trump’s broader immigration policies.
