The Federal Capital Territory,FCT, Police Command has addressed speculations surrounding the death of former Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Mr. David Parradang, dismissing reports that he was kidnapped.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer in the FCT, SP Josephine Adeh, stated that Parradang checked into a hotel near Area 3 Junction, Abuja, on March 3 around noon, paying ₦22,000 for a one-night stay.

He was later joined by a female visitor, who was escorted to his room by a hotel attendant. The lady departed the premises at about 4:00 p.m., while Parradang remained in his room.

Concerned about his well-being, a friend of the deceased, who is a military officer, traced him to the hotel at around 4:00 a.m. on March 4.

The officer and the hotel receptionist proceeded to his room, where they found him lifeless, seated on a chair.

The Durumi Police Division was immediately notified, and officers arrived at the scene to secure the area, take photographs, and collect relevant evidence to aid the investigation. His body was later transferred to the National Hospital for necessary procedures.

Adeh stated that personnel of the hotel are cooperating with the police in their investigations, while efforts were underway to identify the female visitor.

She urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified reports, warning that the false claim of kidnap and murder could incite unnecessary fear and panic.

The police assured that a thorough investigation was ongoing to determine the exact cause of Parradang’s death.
