Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has officially presented a certificate of approval to FirstBank Group, granting permission to begin the construction of its eco-friendly headquarters in Eko Atlantic City.

The presentation took place during the ground-breaking ceremony on Wednesday.

I want to thank the visionaries who have created a new city that will become Africa’s model city — one we will all take pride in. Thanks to the CBN Governor for the approval, and we hope similar approvals are extended to other financial institutions, as there is ample space for them.”

The event also saw the Governor handing over the official certificate of approval, allowing construction to commence immediately.

The ground-breaking ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, the governors of Ogun and Ondo states—Dapo Abiodun and Lucky Aiyedatiwa—Aliko Dangote, founder of Dangote Industries, Gilbert and Roland Chagoury, co-founders of Chagoury Group, Dr. Deji Adeleke, Tunde Folawiyo, Bukola Saraki, and several other distinguished guests.
