The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, LASEPA, has taken decisive action against noise pollution by sealing off several establishments across the city, including lounges, hotels, churches, fast food outlets, and more.
A statement from LASEPA’s General Manager, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, outlined that the closures were due to repeated violations of noise pollution regulations and other environmental offenses.
Dr. Ajayi explained that the agency’s enforcement team carried out operations in multiple areas, including Ogudu Ojota, Apapa, and Alapere, targeting businesses and institutions that failed to meet the state’s environmental standards.
Among the businesses affected were lounges, hotels, religious institutions, retail stores, fast-food outlets, car service centers, and logistics firms.

He stated, “Noise pollution and other environmental violations disturb the peace and well-being of our communities. This enforcement operation underscores our zero-tolerance policy and commitment to enforcing environmental laws.”
He also urged businesses and organizations to comply with the state’s environmental regulations to avoid penalties and ensure a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable Lagos.
