The Super Eagles has moved up one place to 43rd in the latest FIFA rankings, securing the sixth position in Africa. The updated rankings, released on Thursday, reflect recent international performances and shifts in global football standings.

At the top of the rankings, Argentina retains its status as the highest-ranked team in the world. Spain moves up one spot to second place, overtaking France, which drops to third. England and Brazil hold steady in fourth and fifth place, while the Netherlands climbs to sixth, pushing Portugal down to seventh. Belgium, Italy, and Germany complete the global top ten.

In Africa, Morocco now leads the continent after moving two places ahead of Senegal. Ranked 12th globally, the Atlas Lions replace Senegal, who drop to 19th in the world and second in Africa. Egypt, now 32nd in the world, claims the third spot on the continent, while Algeria moves up to 36th globally and fourth in Africa.

Nigeria follows closely in sixth place on the continent, two spots behind the Ivorian team. The Super Eagles’ latest ranking highlights their gradual improvement on the global stage.

Meanwhile, Tunisia makes notable progress, jumping three places to 49th globally and securing the seventh position in Africa. The competition among CAF teams remains fierce, with several nations making gains in the rankings.

Football fans and analysts will be watching closely as teams prepare for upcoming international fixtures. The next FIFA rankings update is set for July 10, providing further insights into the shifting landscape of global and African football.
