Nigerian actress, Lizzy Anjorin has stirred controversy once again—this time, with a bold declaration that she is holier and more impactful than gospel singer Tope Alabi.

The statement follows a birthday celebration drama that has since gone viral on social media.

Trouble began when Tope Alabi, who was reportedly paid to make a surprise appearance at a party, refused to perform upon realizing who the celebrant was. She and her husband, Soji Alabi, who also manages her career, allegedly stayed in their car throughout the event and declined to come out.

Reacting to the incident via her Instagram page, Anjorin criticized the organizers of the surprise, while also throwing jabs at the gospel musician. She declared that she didn’t need Tope Alabi to grace her celebration, stating that her songs could easily be played from her own collection.

“I love you, Aunty Tope, but I do not need you,” Anjorin wrote. “If I had invited her myself, I would not have paid a dime.” The actress emphasized that her contributions to society outweigh those of the gospel singer, asserting that she has impacted more lives and done more good.

She went further to claim spiritual superiority, saying, “I’m holier than you. I have done more good than you did and I am pure.” Addressing her past controversies, including court cases, Anjorin remarked that only God has the right to judge her.

The incident has since sparked debates online, with fans and critics weighing in on both sides. While some questioned the professionalism of Tope Alabi’s decision, others defended her right to decline participation in events she finds uncomfortable.
