The Federal Government has launched the NIN Authentication Service, NINAuth, a new digital platform designed by the National Identity Management Commission, NIMC, to provide secure and seamless identity verification across all government services.
The development aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and reinforces the administration’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s digital identity infrastructure.
President Tinubu has directed that all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies adopt the NINAuth service for identity authentication and verification.
The platform introduces an advanced layer of protection for personal data, requiring users to give explicit consent before their information is accessed for Know Your Customer processes or other forms of verification.

NIMC described the NINAuth as a cutting-edge suite of services available through web access, APIs, and mobile applications. It empowers users by giving them greater control over how their personal data is shared, while simplifying access to government services such as telecommunications registration, immigration procedures, financial transactions, and regulatory services. It also ensures compliance with the Federal Government’s National Identity Policy.
The Commission emphasized that the NINAuth application now serves as the exclusive platform for all NIN-based identity verification, offering a secure, scalable, and interoperable interface that supports real-time authentication.
This initiative is expected to significantly improve the quality of service delivery across government institutions, ensure proper database harmonization, and enhance national security.
Nigerians are encouraged to download the NINAuth app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Further information and the implementation guide are available at [https://ninauth.nimc.gov.ng](https://ninauth.nimc.gov.ng).
