The New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, has strongly refuted widespread reports suggesting that its national leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is contemplating a political alliance or return to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC,ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement released Saturday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ladipo Johnson, the NNPP described the reports as “false, fabricated, and politically motivated,” asserting that no such communication came from Kwankwaso or any authorised party source.

“These stories are the handiwork of mischief-makers trying to sow confusion and distract from our party’s focus,” Johnson said. “Senator Kwankwaso has not made any comment regarding political realignment, nor has he authorised any statement suggesting such.”

The party cautioned the public against being misled by unofficial press materials, emphasizing that any authentic communication from Kwankwaso or the NNPP will only be issued through verified platforms.

Kwankwaso, a former Kano State governor and one-time APC presidential aspirant, broke ranks with the APC before the 2023 elections to contest under the NNPP. His political movement, especially in the North, remains influential, making any news of a return to APC headline-worthy — but untrue, according to the NNPP.

The statement ended with a call for supporters and the general public to stay informed through official channels and avoid being swayed by “unfounded speculation.”
