A host of Arsenal players are set to bid farewell to the club on Monday, with a total of 17 departures confirmed as contracts officially expire on June 30.

The list features several high-profile first-team stars, as well as promising young talents who are yet to make their full impact at senior level.

Among the departing names is Thomas Partey. The Ghanaian international was a regular feature in Mikel Arteta’s side throughout the 2024/25 season, with the manager previously expressing his desire for the midfielder to remain. However, no agreement has been reached regarding a contract extension.

Partey is now poised to leave the club as a free agent. While neither the player nor the club has released an official farewell message, leaving a slim possibility of a late extension, the current situation suggests Partey will not be at the Emirates next season.

One senior player whose exit has been confirmed is Kieran Tierney. The Scottish left-back became a fan favourite after his 2019 move from Celtic, making 144 appearances for the Gunners and scoring in his final game against Southampton. Reflecting on his time at the club, Tierney said:

“It’ll be hard, but it’s a happy goodbye. I’ve loved it here every minute of it. There are countless amazing memories. Your debut is always special, and winning the FA Cup in my first season stands out.

“It’s a great team and I’m close to so many of the boys. I’ve been here a long time, so it’ll be sad but a happy goodbye”, said Tierney who is set to rejoin Celtic on July 1.

Also departing are loan signings Raheem Sterling and Neto, who return to Chelsea and Bournemouth respectively after their loan spells. Sterling managed just one goal in 28 appearances, while backup goalkeeper Neto made only four appearances behind first-choice David Raya.

Meanwhile, Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, who featured in both the Champions League and Premier League this season, is also leaving the club. Despite high expectations, the 22-year-old forward struggled for playing time and is now linked with clubs across Europe.

In a heartfelt farewell on Instagram, Butler-Oyedeji wrote:

“Dear Arsenal fans, after 14 years at this club, my time at Arsenal has come to an end. I want to thank God for giving me the opportunity to realise my dream of playing for Arsenal.

“I extend my appreciation to the first team, my parents, all the coaches, physios, chefs, cleaners, teammates I’ve worked with, and most importantly—the lifeblood of the club—the fans.

“Thank you to everyone who supported me through the highs and lows. Arsenal will always hold a special place in my heart. As a boyhood fan, making my debut was a dream come true. I will always be part of the Arsenal family, and I look forward to wherever my journey leads next.”

The summer of 2025 is proving to be a transformative one for the Gunners, as the club reshapes its squad for the season ahead.
