Maria Sharapova, one of the most accomplished names in the tennis industry, has built a fortune that extends far beyond the court.

In 2025, her net worth is estimated between USD 180 million and USD 220 million, making her one of the wealthiest athletes of her generation.

Throughout her career, Sharapova earned about USD 38.8 million in prize money, clinching 36 WTA titles, including five Grand Slam victories.

She stunned the tennis world by winning Wimbledon in 2004 at just 17, later adding the US Open in 2006, the Australian Open in 2008, and two French Open titles in 2012 and 2014.

She also rose to world number one multiple times, a testament to her dominance on the court.

However, her wealth owes much to her ventures outside tennis. Sharapova became a global marketing icon, signing lucrative endorsement deals with brands like Nike, Porsche, Evian, and TAG Heuer.

For over a decade, she held the distinction of being the highest-paid female athlete in the world.

Her entrepreneurial pursuits added another dimension to her fortune. She launched her own candy brand, Sugarpova, which grew into a successful business, and invested in innovative companies such as Supergoop, a skincare line.

These ventures ensured her relevance in the business world long after her retirement in 2020.

In August 2025, Sharapova was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame, an honour celebrating both her on-court brilliance and her lasting influence in the sport.

While induction adds more prestige than income, it enhances her global brand, potentially strengthening her future business and endorsement opportunities.

Sharapova’s story demonstrates how sporting excellence, strategic endorsements, and entrepreneurial ventures can combine to create enduring financial success.

Even in retirement, she remains a force in both sports and business, standing as an inspiration for athletes aiming to extend their legacy beyond competition.
